About this Frame TV artwork

A painting of calavera musicians playing guitars in a plaza – a hint of a story without a face to meet the eye, which is what makes figurative art work on a TV.

Gouache gives the design flat, velvety colour and crisp decorative shapes – a matte finish that hides the fact that it is on a screen. The medium is cut-paper folk illustration.

It pairs well with a warm-white matte on the Frame, which pulls the palette together and hides the panel edge. If the image looks too bright, the Frame's Art Mode settings let you lower brightness independently of TV mode; a small reduction goes a long way with this palette.

The file is delivered at 3840 × 2160 pixels (4K UHD, 16:9) as an sRGB JPEG – the native resolution of every Samsung Frame from 43" to 85" and a format every 4K TV, Roku and Fire TV accepts. It is included in the 1,267-design Frame TV art bundle.
