About this Frame TV artwork
Santa reading to woodland animals by a lantern: a seasonal piece painted in a traditional style, without cartoon characters or lettering, so the Frame TV looks like it is showing a holiday painting rather than a card.
Painted in opaque gouache, it has the slightly chalky, matte surface of a folk print, with clean shapes and no glossy highlights. The medium is naturalist gouache.
It suits a living-room Frame TV above a sofa, where the wide composition can be seen from across the room. Leave the Frame's motion sensor on so the panel dims when the room is empty – it makes the difference between a painting and a screen. It belongs to the Christmas set, so it is the kind of piece that goes up after Thanksgiving and can stay through New Year.
Supplied as a 3840 × 2160 sRGB JPEG, it needs no resizing or cropping for the Samsung Frame, and displays correctly on LG, Sony, TCL and Hisense art-mode TVs too. This design is one of 1,267 in the bundle.
